Pregnancy is a beautiful time of life. You are about to bring a precious soul earthside – so exciting! However, we need to be more reflective as to the struggles too. Aches and pains, moodiness, and lack of sleep – these are real, and very much part of the birth experience.
Yoga postures help alleviate many common physical aches and pains. The stretching, flexing and pointing of the feet, along with the gentle massaging action of the poses (and your breath) – these help to remove muscle tension, elevate mobility in the joints, and increase blood circulation.
The physical benefits of prenatal yoga are just the tip of the iceberg. In addition, you will likely realize increased stability of your mood. In class, you will learn to synchronize your breath to the movements, allowing your breath to become deeper and more rhythmic (almost as a massaging force). Your breath can influence a softening of emotions, quieting them from the main stage of your mind.
